A Complete Blood Picture (CBP) is a blood test used to evaluate your overall health and detect a variety of ailments including anaemia, infection and leukemia. A CBC is a study of the following: Red blood cells (carry oxygen); white blood cells (fight infection); haemoglobin (oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells); hematocrit (proportion of red blood cells to the fluid component, or plasma, in your blood); and platelets (help with blood clotting). Anaemia is a condition where the haemoglobin is found to be lower than normal and can result in low energy, fatigue, heart palpitations, shortness of breath and can lead to heart problems.
